In 1951 schools were 3 shift, 6 days a week and KP lasted from 5 am to about 2 am the following day, feeding 4 meals. Beside class KP, Sunday KP rotated around the Sqdns. Made corporal (only top 10% of class made it then) exempting me from it. Then new rank system, now I'm an A/2c and back on KP. We even pulled mess server duty at the NCO mess hall.
