1989 Loma Prieta Earthquake`s epicenter

The "Google Earth" aerial image below shows the proximity of the 1989 Loma Prieta Earthquake`s epicenter to the former Almaden AFS (which had closed only nine years earlier, in 1980).

If the "Google Earth" Ruler function is accurate, the former Almaden AFS was located a mere 7.85 miles from the epicenter of the 1989 Loma Prieta Earthquake!
