In 1970 I was assigned to the Antigo WI FPS-35. We didn`t have a radome, but did have a unique bench stock item that we regularly re-stocked from supply. That item was Kotex. Boxes and boxes of them. As the FPS-35 had a giant bearing (12` across) along with six 100 hp motors and other oil cooled equipment, we had a lot of oil drippings everywhere. Thus someone`s idea for the feminine hygiene items. During our yearly open house day, the boss would make us remove all the Kotex for that day. When new folks were assigned to supply at our mother base in Duluth MN, we almost certainly would get the call asking exactly how many WAF (a PC term at that time) were assigned to Antigo. Explaining that was fun.!
