STILL MORE CAMPION MEMORIES

I never knew the reason we got a damn Kung-Fu movie every Tuesday until reading Harvey`s post. Thanks Harvey for clearing that up for me.

One time at the movies, the projectionist mixed up the second and third reels. The movie was so bad, no one noticed. Usually, there was a small crowd at the movies, except when the army was in town. During the army`s annual exercise "Jack Frost" the theater was packed every night, with soldiers trying to warm up a bit.

A popular song requested, dedicated to someone who was leaving, was "Thank God and Greyhound" by Roy Clark. The refrain is "Thank God and Greyhound, you`re gone."

One of the ingredient`s of the "Green Lizard" was a raw egg. I didn`t have any trouble drinking it down, but wouldn`t that have been fun, to get salmonella a day after my first "Hail and Farewell?"

We had one change of command while I was there. Major Davis took over for Major Davis.

The club was a nice place to fill time. You got a free hamburger on your birthday. Ed "Weebles Wobbles but he don`t fall Down" Wroblinski (sp) played the keyboard very well. He was accompanied by a variety of others and they kept us entertained.

It was a good time.
