On Hwy 83, 1.4 miles southeast of the Carrizo Springs city limits, Dimmit
County, TX
Site History and Findings of Fact
DOD acquired 1.19 acres and the Air Force constructed an unmanned radar station consisting of a concrete block building, steel radio tower, septic tank, and security fence. The site was declared excess in August 1963 and transferred to GSA, which assigned the annex to the Dept. of Health, Education, and Welfare, which in turn conveyed it to Carrizo Springs Independent School District.
Current Use of Site at time of FUDS Report
Carrizo Springs Independent School District uses the site to store surplus supplies. The concrete block building, three tower supports, and security fence still remain.
