At 4064` Black Butte is one of the high peaks centered in the valley, offering a grand overview of the entire Tobacco Valley and further on into Canada. Both mountain ranges, the Canadian Rockies, Lake Koocanusa, The Tobacco River, and the towns of Eureka and Rexford, can be seen from this vantage point. The Lookout is located southwest of Eureka on Forest Road #854.
