3.75 miles northeast of Hogeland, Blaine County, MT
Site History and Findings of Fact
The US Government acquired 0.77 acres fee for site facilities and 1.58 acres easement for an access road and utilities, and a no-acre license, for use as Hogeland Gap Filler Annex P-25B, previously known as Hogeland Air Force Station. There were no site improvements at the time of acquisition.
Real estate records do not contain specific information as to DOD-installed improvements, which may have been constructed on the site.
Landowner interviews indicated that DOD-installed improvements may have included a concrete building.
A Department of the Air Force Final Project Map dated 26 March 1956 depicts three structures planned for the site.
The installation was deactivated on 1 September 1960, and the 0.77 acre fee land and 1.58 acres of easement, with improvements, were conveyed by Quitclaim Deed dated 13 September 1961 to Roy C. Billmayer, Hogeland, Montana.
The no-area lease was returned to Blaine County.
A generator and allied electrical equipment were removed by the Government prior to conveyance to the private landowner.
Current use at time of 1992 report
The concrete block building, located on the northeast corner of the site, is structurally sound. It is not beneficially used by the current owner, but it is informally used by a neighboring landowner for cattle shelter.
