I was talking to my son last night (26 and a video editor with Fox) and he reminded me that he had done a graphic for me years ago with stuff found in an old box. Anyway, the graphic was based on a Keith Ferris print called "Farewell Old Friend". The print shows two "sixes" intercepting a pair of T-33`s. My son superimposed the 671st over the T-33`s and, using a play on the squadron call sign, named it "Imagine That".
While at Key West, I controlled 102`s ("Tango Lima`s") based in KW, then following their deactivation in October 1969, we controlled a detachment of 106`s ("Mike Golfs") based at Homestead. We also controlled Marine F-4`s at Key West who provided support for the Joint Air Reconnaissance Center ("JARC") collocated with "Imagine".
Funny looking back but those were some great times!!!
