Lompoc AFS was located about 5-7 miles south of the town of Lompoc on the top of Oak Mountain. The site was operated by ADC, but transferred to Vandenberg (the Strategic Air Command) in August 1966. Today, the site is used as a telemetry receiving station and is still part of Vandenberg, but is managed by Air Force Space Command.
