23 miles southwest of the town of Mason, in Mason County, TX
Site History and Findings of Fact
DOD acquired 19.44 acres on Feb 1958 and the Air Force constructed and operated an unmanned radar station for an interceptor equadron at Lackland AFB.
It was designed to cover from ground level to 200 feet in elevation The radar station was declared excess in 1960 and the property returned in two parcels to the original and former landowners at different times in 1962. The Air Force removed all technical operative equipment including the radar tower and diesel fuel tank.
Current Use of Site at time of FUDS Report
The annex building is used by the current owner for hay storage. The radar tower foundations are still present on the site.
