Site History and Findings of Fact
The Air Force acquired the 0.45 acre site in 1956 and constructed and operated the site until deactivation in 1969. The site consisted of a masonry building, a radar screen, miscellaneous tower foundations, an electrical transformer, and underground storage tank.
Disposal of the property occurred in 1970 after a declaration of excess was made in 1969. GSA quitclaimed the site to the Minnesota Dept. of Transportation, which uses it for miscellaneous storage.
Xeroxed copies of B & W photos indicate the radar screen was left on site, and remaining signage on the chain link fence identify the site as `Government Property` and `US Air Force Gap Filler`.
