"A total of 13.45 acres of land was acquired in 1955 for the Port orford Gap Filler Annex. The acquisition process involved the transfer of land from the U.S. Treasury Dept (Coast Guard), purchase of a small piece of fee land, and conveyance of two easments from a private party. The site was used as a Gap Filler Radar Annex for the North Bend Air Force Station. The facility included a "bubble-enclosed" radar antenna and a concrete block building. The entire area wa surrounded by chain link fence. The site was unmanned. In September 1965, the Air Force declared the site excess to their needs and in September 1965 and February 1966, the land was disposed of."
The Port Orford GFA location was turned over to the GSA in 1965, and is now part of the Port Orford Heads State Park.
