President Lyndon Johnson visited Texarkana as President of the United States, and the members of the 703rd ACW Sq was his honor guard as he returned to his Air Force-One plane at the Texarkana Airport and returned to Washington, D.C. I have a letter from a General Martensen, that extended the appreciation of General Wade, Commander (at the time) of 2nd Air Force, Barksdale AFB, LA. for the professional manner in which the members of the 703rd ACW Sq supported President Johnson`s visit.
