Tonopah Air Force Station was located on Air Force Road just south and west of the junction of Highways 6 and 95.
Tonopah had both Manual and Sage site locations. The manual site access was off the west end of Air Force Road and wound south to the top of Brock Mountain. It consisted of one search radar, without radome.
The Sage site was accessed via Radar Road, originating off Highway 6 west of town, and heading north about 6 miles. This site location is still in use by the Air Force, although the AC&W site closed down in 1970.
The Support Site was where the BLM complex and Nye County School District offices and shops are located on Air Force Road. All the original buildings are still on site and in use.
The Central Nevada Museum has information on the radar site in the form of Newspaper files covering the operating period, as well as photographs such as construction of the road to the radar unit and pictures of the support facility.
Not enough museum staff is on hand for them to send copies of this information, but it is available for anyone who would make a visit to the Museum.
