On Clover Mountain in Lassen National Forest, approximately 33 miles northeast of Redding, Shasta County, CA
Site History and Findings of Fact
The Air Force acquired 75.89 acres on January 5, 1959 and constructed an unmanned gap filler radar site.
They operated the unmanned radar gap filler until April 15, 1961, when the property was conveyed to the Forest Service. Construction included the L-shaped concrete building, steel radar tower, woven wire fence, and gravel access road.
At the time of the 1992 report, the radar tower and communications equipment have been removed , and the building reduced to the concrete pad, with concrete and metal debris remaining on the site.
