9: Lyndonville AFS, VT, and Yuma AFS, AZ. The radar site at Yuma was actually a new site, replacing the original AC&W radar station that was on the grounds of Yuma Marine Corps Air Station (originally Vincent AFB). The new Yuma site, roughly 7 miles to the south, was cancelled before completion, shortly after the AN/FPS-27 radar tower was completed, reportedly due to budget cuts in 1963. Lyndonville AFS (earlier known as North Concord AFS) was also closed in 1963 due to budget cuts; in fact, its AN/FPS-26 height-finder radar had just been installed about a month before the announcement was made that the site was closing later that year.
