The radar site is located on a mountain top west of Joliett, PA, which is a few miles west of I-81, Exit 33 (US Rte 209). The site is now the Reservoir Keffer Fire Lookout and an FAA RCAG facility. Both the building and the radar tower are still extant; the radar tower supports the fire lookout. The building now sports exterior siding. The chain-link fence surrounding the facility appears to be relatively new.
The former gap-filler radar annex, as seen from the southwest side. The round platform at the top of the tower shows that the tower once had a radome (the temperate configuration had a hexagonal platform). [looking northeast]
Another view of the southwest end of the building and the radar-tower base. The diesel-generator wing protrudes to the left (northwest).
The `front` of the GFA building, with the diesel-generator wing at the right rear. [looking west]
The `rear` of the GFA building, with the diesel-generator wing at the left. [looking east]
The former gap-filler radar annex, as seen from the northeast (diesel-generator end) side.
A view of the facility using a 28-mm wide-angle lens, looking west. Seen are the former radar tower now fire-lookout tower, the FAA radio tower, several commercial transmitter towers, and the large water tank (just southwest of the radar tower). Time of day was late afternoon.
