I took these photos on Friday, 14 March 2003. All were made in the early afternoon.
This photo (using a 55-mm normal lens) shows the old 686th AC&W Squadron cantonment area near the center of the main base. [looking southeast] These Quonset huts are now used by the physical plant crew of the Eastern New Mexico University - Roswell (ENMU-R). The signs out front and the ENMU-R pickup trucks all carried this colorful logo:
Final note: The entire former Air Force Base (which closed on 30 June 1967) appeared to be in very good shape overall -- very clean and well maintained. In many ways, it still looked like an active base.
