Site was shared with the Army for the Nike Missile air-defense system. FAA site now, still using the FPS-66A (now modified to a Common Air Route Surveillance Radar, CARSR).
P-71A       Virginia, NE ** (FPS-18 planned)       Gap-Filler Annex. ** In early ADC plans, but never was built.
P-71B       King City, MO **         ** Gap-Filler Annex. In original ADC plans, but never was built. Reportedly, was to have been located west-northwest of King City in the High Prairie area, perhaps just north or northeast of Whitesville, MO.
P-71C       Kingsley, IA **         ** Gap-Filler Annex. In original ADC plans, but never was built.
P-71D / P-81A Z-81A     Dallas Center, IA FPS-18 *   May-60 Dec-67 Gap-Filler Annex. Former LRR site, M-122. * ADC records list the radar type as FPS-18, and the antenna is an AN/FPS-18 type; however, other markings are for an AN/FPS-14. Both building and radar tower are still extant.

Current Use: Still active. This now-FAA long-range radar site is now data-tied into the Joint Surveillance System (post 9/11).
