Z-54 Z-54   680 Palermo AFS SAGE, NJ FPS-20 / FPS-65; FPS-6 (2)   1962 * 30-Mar-70 BUIC-II (the second operational unit after North Truro AFS BUIC-II). * Sq transferred from Yaak AFS, MT (P-11). Site re-opened as Z-54 (LRR); closed again in 1970, and GATR site R-28 retained until 1976. The housing reportedly transferred to the U.S. Coast Guard after site closed.

Current Use: Demolished (except for the housing area). [Note: This is the second Palermo AFS operation that began in 1962, and ended in 1970; see also the 770th AC&W Squadron / Radar Squadron (SAGE), Palermo AFS, that operated from 1948 until 1961.]
