M-89 Z-89   683 Sweetwater AFS, TX MPS-11; TPS-10D; FPS-6A / -90 FPS-67B; FPS-90 1956 30-Sep-69 USAF site shared with Army for Nike Missile air-defense system. Located at Avenger Field. Plans for an AN/FPS-24 or -35 FD search radar were cancelled. After the facility was closed, the property was released to the city of Sweetwater.
M-89A       Ballinger, TX **         ** Gap-Filler Annex. In early ADC plans, but reportedly was never was built.
M-89B       Big Spring, TX FPS-18   May-60 Dec-60 Gap-Filler Annex. Located in present-day Big Spring State Park, just east of Webb AFB.
M-89C       Brownfield, TX         Gap-Filler Annex. Reportedly, never operational.
M-89D / P-78A       Southbend, TX **         ** Gap-Filler Annex. In original ADC plans, but never was built.
M-89E       Sidney, TX FPS-18   May-60 Dec-60 Gap-Filler Annex. Building is still extant.

Current Use: Site is now the Sweetwater Municipal Airport and the Rolling Plains campus of Texas State Technical Institute.
