M-90 Z-90 *   686 Walker AFB, NM MPS-7, MPS-14   1955 May 1963 The M-90 radar site was also known as Walker AFS. The cantonment area was on the main base east of the runways, and the radar site was west of the runways. Plans for an AN/FPS-28 FD search radar were cancelled. Arctic-style radar tower was relocated to this radar station from Continental Divide AFS, NM (P-7) when that site closed in 1961. * Deactivation was initially held in abeyance in FY 1964 for the FAA’s proposed National Airspace Utilization System (NAUS), and SAGE designation of Z-90 was assigned.
M-90A       Orla, TX FPS-14   Sep-57 Dec-60 Gap-Filler Annex. Facility (minus radar tower) is still extant.
M-90B       Santa Rosa, NM         Gap-Filler Annex. Building is still extant. Radar equipment (likely) was never installed. However, diesel generators reportedly were installed.

M-90C       Carlsbad, NM ** (FPS-14 planned)       Gap-Filler Annex. ** In early ADC plans, but never was built
M-90D       El Paso Gap, NM ** (FPS-14 first planned, then FPS-18)       Gap-Filler Annex. ** In early ADC plans, but never was built.

Current Use: The cantonment area is still extant, now used by the physical plant crew of the Eastern New Mexico University - Roswell (ENMU-R). The former Walker AFB itself is now the Roswell Industrial Air Center.
