There are several hundred pictures. It was published by the Army & Navy Publishing Company in Baton Rouge Louisiana. 07/07/2010 00:00:00 Name: Tom Taylor I was with IBM in the SAGE CC building during 59 and 60. The Air Force had not yet taken over maintance of the system yet.My manager called me in one day and told me to come up with three IBM people, one each from central computer, one from displays and one from input/output. We were to come up with a class plan to teach a group of Airmen to operate the system. We taught a class for about 12 people for about 3 months. They then pretty much took over operation of the system, This left us free to do the maintance on the system. These Airmen came from the "scopes" and were glad to be moved. We also enjoyed doing the classes. I always enjoy stories about SAGE. 07/07/2010 00:00:00 Name: tom taylor I meant to say I was with SAGE at McChord AFB in 59 and 60. 07/06/2010 00:00:00 Name: Robert Miller Stationed in McCoy AFB 965th/963rd AEW&C from Nov 68 - Oct 70. 07/06/2010 00:00:00 Name: Roger Andrews I was stationed at 663rd AC&W, Lake City Tenn, 58-60, I was at 720th AC&W,Middleton Island Alaska,60-61 and at 701st AC&W,Ft,Fisher,N.C. 61-63 and then was forced to retrain into data processing in 1963. His name is Hank Saldana and he lives in Pueblo Colorado. We have not seen each other or spoken since November 1961. At age 75,Hank got a computer and his niece is teaching him how to use it. They googled Middleton and found my name on the site roster and tracked me down. We talked on the phone like school kids for over an hour. We are already planning a trip to get together. The site was first located on the northern tip of Taiwan (Fukui Cape) near a little village of Shihmen. Duty was too good there, so in 1968, the site was moved to a mountain just south of Shihmen. I believe the name of the location was Sung Shan or Bamboo Mountain. Low level coverage was so good that we could count boats in the Straits and got nothing but ground clutter from the Mainland. 07/04/2010 00:00:00 Name: bill ayer Stationed at 634th until 1968 30574 07/04/2010 00:00:00 Name: bill ayer served may 1961 - 1962 07/04/2010 00:00:00 Name: Buck Brennan CMSGT RET Happy 4th of July to all and thank you for your unselfish service to this great county. 07/04/2010 00:00:00 Name: Paul Marrin Looking for anyone stationed at 752nd Aircraft Control and Warning (AC&W) squadron, Empire, Mi, 1963-65 timeframe. 07/03/2010 00:00:00 Name: Bert Acosta Looking for 775th AC&W Squadron member airmen at Cambria, California during 1957-58 07/03/2010 00:00:00 Name: A.
