Stationed @ Lookout Mountain / Flintstone AFS, GA in mid 50ies, looks like we have few Airmen still around. Was on D crew in ops for about 15 months. Would like to hear from some of the troops.

Was Safety NCO for 485th GEEIA in VN 1968-69 and was safety observer when we placed the poles by helicopter on top of Monkey Mountain for the radar system. Since this is an Air Defense Radar Museum, I also served with the 5073rd in Alaska on Shemya.

I was stationed at the 638th AC&W ~ my first assignment out of basic. Great times.

This past summer, I returned for a nostalgic visit to the base (Now a training base for the trades) and nearby Republic. Surprised to find that nothing much has changed.

Enjoyed showing my wife what is part of my past.

I had the great experience to visit Pearl Harbor and the memorial in 1999. I was surprised by how many Japanese were there visiting. I remember when I heard the news on Dec 7, 1941, I was only 8 yrs old and in the 3rd grade.

I had a double treat when I visited Pearl Harbor in July 2007. Not only did I get to visit the USS Arizona Memorial, but the MDA's Sea-Based X-Band (SBX) radar platform was docked right across the harbor.
