About a month ago watched the TO of the EC-121T super Connie from the Camarillo airport. This will be the last flight of any of the old radar EW planes. Mentally went thru the old maintenance procedures that I would be performing when I flew them back in 1954, 55. Shared the experience with a couple of Navy Willie Victor fliers, other than that, pretty decent guys. Lovely roar to the old 3350 engines.

I was wondering if any of you remember Alan F. Gianotti who served at Point Arena in 1952-1953. He became ill in early May and was sent to Hamilton AFB and from there home to Portland,OR where he died on May 19,1953 of acute leukemia. There was a memorial for him on the base. Some of his co- airmen were an honor guard at his burial. We have some pictures of Alan with his friends and even with a pet deer named Bambi.Thank you for your many kindnesses.
Sincerely,
Marilee Davis

I worked in Site Support (Supply) from 1977 to 1979 and PCSd to Beale. Point Arena was the "Real Air Force" as far as I was concerned. I loved it there. It is to bad it had to close. I would have stayed the forever.
