Enlisted into USAF in 1964 and was stationed at Burns from 1965 to 1968 (my enlistment terminated there; spent the first year in basic and radar training at Keesler AFB). Best four years of my life. Got to meet and remain in contact with some GREAT people, met and married my wife of 44 years while stationed at Burns, and now live in Bend, OR visiting Burns occasionally (originally a Jersey guy). I enlisted into the Air Force to be able to fly in planes; only saw an AF jet up close and personal once during my tour, that was when a jet flew over our radar site at an Armed Forces event. I was in tracker maint. Bennett I served at Rockport AFS, Texas and Zapata AFS, Texas, next a year on the DEW line at Cape Sarichef, Alaska and then Sundance AFS, Wyoming where I ended my active duty in June of 1962. After a long service break I enlisted the Missouri Air National Guard in St Louis, Missouri where I was in an Engineering and Installation Squadron. I moved to Wichta, Kansas and joined an Aircraft Control Squadron as 1st Sargeant.
